As a commonly used engineering plastic, pC/ABS alloy has entered all aspects of our lives. Injection molding has become a major processing method due to the processing characteristics of PC/ABS. Although injection molding is a convenient and extremely efficient production method, it has its drawbacks, one of which is the weld line.

Poor performance of the weld line can cause many problems for the appearance of the part. For example, there will be color changes at the weld line, effect defects on the special effect parts, unevenness on the surface, and post-processing (such as electroplating) may cause defects. At the same time, if the weld line strength is too low, it will cause problems such as cracking of the screw hole, cracking of the card slot and cracking of the workpiece.

The various appearances of the weld line are mainly caused by the microscopic performance of the weld line of the PC/ABS material. Since the PC/ABS product is an alloy material composed of PC, ABS, and other functional additives, there are different phase distributions at the microscopic level. Due to the difference in temperature between the mold and the stream during injection molding, the phase morphology of the cross section of the product varies with the cooling rate. Figure:
